In the second quarter of 2024, the Film & Television category saw varied performance among the top apps on the unified iOS and Android platforms in the United States. This data, provided by Sensor Tower, gives us a snapshot of how these entertainment powerhouses fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Star+ maintained a steady revenue stream throughout the quarter, peaking at nearly $20K in early May. Downloads for Star+ showed a downward trend with a sharp drop to just under 2K by late June. Weekly active users started strong at over 260K but dipped to around 218K towards the end of the quarter.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies saw its revenue fluctuate, with a notable increase to over $13K in the latter half of June. Downloads varied, with a high of over 37K at the start of April, and ended the quarter with nearly 20K. Weekly active users grew consistently, reaching close to 360K by the end of Q2.

The Disney+ app's revenue showed an upward trend, ending June with over $18K. Downloads saw a significant surge in the last week of June, topping at over 31K. Active users had a notable increase, finishing the quarter with over 347K, compared to the 240K at the start of April.

Crunchyroll experienced a steady revenue with a slight increase to over $6K in the last week of June. Downloads peaked mid-April at over 18K but also saw a rise to over 17K in the final week of the quarter. Active users showed a gradual increase, ending with close to 190K.

Amazon Prime Video witnessed modest revenue growth, with the closing week reaching nearly $6K. Downloads had their highest point in late April at over 11K, while weekly active users peaked at over 309K in the same period and concluded the quarter with just over 307K.
